Trinity Court

Overcoming urban challenges for a bespoke city-centre build in Norwich, Norfolk.

Located on Trinity Street beside a supermarket and one of Norwich’s busiest roads, Trinity Court was a bespoke rental development requiring careful planning and execution. The demolition of an existing block of flats and restricted site access presented significant logistical challenges, with traffic management a key concern.

Permission was granted to temporarily close part of the adjacent road, creating space for a secure site compound. The development included an underground basement providing parking for 20 cars, bike storage, and plant rooms—requiring the entire perimeter to be piled ahead of excavation.

Once the piles were installed, a structural steel ring beam was poured and braced with craned-in struts to prevent collapse during excavation. Additional piling was required beneath the central tower crane. The new structure sat entirely within the pile perimeter, supported by a steel frame beneath the ground floor slab.
